NextNW Volunteer – Event Promotion & Marketing

By volunteering with NextNW, you’ll help build a thriving creative community, drive engagement, and contribute to meaningful initiatives that empower professionals and brands across the region. Our membership is based across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia and Alberta.

Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated event promotion & marketing coordinator to support our ongoing roster of events including our two major annual events, the Cascadia awards and our NextNW Golf Open. This role plays a vital part in expanding NextNW’s impact by ensuring our events are published, promoted and marketed in a timely manner and all supporting sponsors are accurately represented in campaign materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage ongoing events pages
• Setup and verify ticketing systems for events
• Coordinate touch-bases with the events team to ensure we have an accurate picture of all upcoming events
• Setup and verify webinar/virtual events in platform
• Create campaign briefs for event design needs and coordinate requests for campaign material with our design volunteers
• Ensure any on-site event signage is created and ordered
• Create event promotion schedule for our Cascadia awards program and ensure it’s being promoted across all owned and social channels
• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and board members to source any information or materials needed
• Create post-event POP blog posts to further sell-through the value of our events and create excitement for future events
• Create event promotion schedule for our NextNW Golf Open and ensure it’s being promoted across all owned and social channels
• Work with our newsletter volunteer to ensure event materials are provided for our newsletters
  Flag and troubleshoot any website issues

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a passion for marketing, media, and creative industries.
• Enjoys creating and implementing event marketing strategies
• Is a self-starter willing to seek out information from key stakeholders
• Enjoys content promotion
• Is comfortable using digital collaboration tools (Slack, Google Drive, event registration platforms, etc.).
  Can commit to the duration of the role
